The Beam Projector Spotlight

The Beam Light or Projector is very similar to fresnel light fixture but without a lens. The usual Beam light gives out a very narrow but intense light beam, with a very soft edge.

The range of beam lights vary from 500 to 2000 watts and have an open circular front with a diameter of 10- 24”. They have a parabolic reflector which gives a parallel beam of light and sometimes functions like a searchlight. It is a ‘speciality’ fixture especially in North America and Britain but is used commonly in other European countries.

Lighting designers find it very useful while stimulating moonlight, sunlight and produces strong beam of light with a round and very soft edge. The Beam Lights are used as follow spots as they have a near parallel tight beam of light. The Beam Light is usually mounted behind the prosecenium arch in a ‘perch’ position and is excellent for this application.

The common Beam Light available in North America is 10”-12” diameter with maximum of 1000 watts. The Beam Projector has a beam spread is of 5 to 15 variable with a 500 to 2000 wattage and gives out a round beam with a soft edge. The kit includes a power cord with options available of buying a lamp, pipe clamp, color frame, lens safety mesh and electrical connector.
